VARIOUS CITATIONS

2011       An APS Outstanding Referee

Each year about 150 (one-half of one percent) of the roughly 45.000 current active
referees of the APS journals are recognized to the status of  an APS Outstanding
Referee. This is a lifetime award. APS Editors select the honorees based on the quality, number and timeliness of their reports, without regard for membership in the APS, country
of origin, or field of research. The honorees come from 30 different countries, with large contingents from the USA, Germany, Canada, France, UK, Spain. Professor Shukla received this honor  in 2011.

2009       Corresponding Fellowship from The Royal Society of Edinburgh, Scotland's National Academy of Science and Letters

Each new Fellow of the RSE is recognized within his or her peer group as having achieved excellence within their descipline or profession. RSE Fellows contribute to the aims and objectives of the society, including the provision of expert policiy advice to Government and Parliament, outreach education programms for young people, and public engagement events including conferences and discussion forums. The central aim of the Society is the advancement of learning and useful knowledge.

2009      First Laureate of the 22nd Kwarizmi International Award (KIA), Iranian Research Organization of Science and Technology (IROST), Iran

This crowning achievment is the result of your dedication, excellence and sustained hard work
in the field of research.

2009       Doctor Honoris Causa degree from the Technical University of Lisabon, Portugal

Padma Kant Shukla is an outstanding plasma physicist, who has published more than one thousand papers, and made several important and decisive advances in plasma theory.

2008  Elected Foreign Member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences

calls Padma Kant Shukla to be its member.  Election to the Engineering Academy is one of the highest professional honors that can be accorded to a scientist and an engineer who have made fundamental contributions to research and education. The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences share responsibility with the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences
to advise the Government on qustions of policy in science and technology.

2007   Elected Associate Fellow of Physics Class of The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World, Trieste

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to science and its promotion in the developing world. An outstanding  theoretical plasma physicist, Shukla has made numerous remarkable contributions to collective processes in complex plasmas, including the discovery of dust acoustic waves; wakefields for charged dust grain attraction, the theory for large amplitude Langmuir envelope solitons; the theory for dust void; and the generation of magnetic fields
and inhomogeneities due to nonlinear neutrino plasma interactions.

2006  Elected Foreign Member of  Physics Class of The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences

calls Padma Kant Shukla to be its member for the class of Physics. Being elected a member of the Academy constitutes one of the highest honors that can be accorded to a scientist and exclusive recognition of successful achievements.  The latter could be prominant research in mathematics, natural science, social science, but also outstanding service to science and education.
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences advises the Swedish Government on
qustions of policy in science and technology.

2006  Gay-Lussac/Humboldt Prize from the French Ministry of
Education and Research

For developing successful scientific collaboration between France and Germany.
